I love to look at professional nature photography blogs. I feel somewhat envious that they can travel the world and catch incredible shots of nature. However, I keep challenging myself to get outside and find beauty in my own area.

Winter has been cold and grey in Pennsylvania. Finding color and beauty in January is difficult.

Today, I visited a wetland that sits right in the middle of suburbia. My daughter and I used to meet my husband here for lunches when he worked close by.

I love the simple warm-colored grasses against the evergreens and almost-blue sky.

Here is a glowy morning moment. I caught some lens flare but I like the look.

And a little more flare from the sun.

This plant is found everywhere in this area. It gives me something to photograph in the Winter however the wind made it difficult for a sharp shot.

I love the look and sound of running water.

This tiny little school or church from the past, sits along the road on the way home. I clogged up the road for a minute to get a shot!

So until Spring comes along with all its glory. I will continue to search for interesting sites to photograph.

Sincerely,

  6. I have those tall grasses here in Maine too. Each time I see them in sun they're like a magnet. I totally hear you on the blowing thing tho. I have a gazillion blurry grasses pics. Delete. I like the light you caught. Lens flare can be very appealing. I used to live in PA in Bucks county. Kind of miss it.
